I moved this site from keremerkan.net to keremerkan.dev. All old links redirect automatically: bookmarks, search results, and shared URLs will keep working.
Why the Change
I’ve had keremerkan.net since 2006 and it served me well for twenty years. But .dev is a better fit for a developer site and I already use keremerkan.dev as my Bluesky handle. Consolidating everything under one domain was overdue.
What Changed
Not much, technically. The server is the same, the database is the same. The migration was a wp search-replace across all tables to swap the domain, a few theme file updates for hardcoded URLs, and a 301 redirect rule on the old domain. WordPress and WP-CLI make this straightforward.
The .net domain stays active with permanent redirects, so nothing breaks. Search engines will reindex over time.
